Mohan Chatti sits on the edge of Rishikesh in Uttarakhand, ringed by the lower Himalayan hills, forest and the wide green valley of the Ganges.Away from the busy town centre it is quiet here, yet you are still close to the temples, the adventure sports, the cafes and the markets that Rishikesh is known for.
Fresh mountain air, birdsong and long views across the hills fill the days, which is much of the reason people choose this side of town for practice and rest.The property has a fully equipped yoga studio, comfortable rooms, a rooftop, a dining area, gardens and common spaces to sit in, with Wi-Fi throughout the building.
A local market is about 300 to 400 metres away, so everyday essentials are easy to pick up without arranging transport, which helps on a longer stay.The area around you carries the natural beauty and the spiritual history that made Rishikesh one of the best known yoga destinations in the country.

Fly into Jolly Grant Airport (DED) in Dehradun, the nearest airport at about 21 km away. It has regular domestic flights from New Delhi and good connections to other major Indian cities.
International travellers usually arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in New Delhi first, then take a connecting domestic flight to Dehradun.
Taxis and private cabs wait at the airport, and the drive to the centre takes around 40 to 50 minutes through the scenic Himalayan foothills, which is a pleasant enough introduction to the region.

The nearest major railway station is Haridwar Junction (HW) in Uttarakhand, well connected with Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow and several other cities.
From Haridwar, hire a taxi or take a shared cab towards Mohan Chatti by way of Rishikesh. The road journey usually takes 45 to 60 minutes.
Guests arriving at Rishikesh Railway Station can also continue comfortably by taxi, and the last part of the drive is a short one from there.

Regular government and private buses connect Rishikesh Bus Stand with Delhi, Haridwar, Dehradun, Chandigarh and other nearby cities, with both ordinary and Volvo services running daily.
Once you reach Rishikesh, take a taxi, an auto rickshaw or a shared vehicle for the last stretch towards Mohan Chatti. The road is well kept and the views of the hills and forest along it are worth the window seat.

From Haridwar or Dehradun it is a comfortable run through Rishikesh and on towards Mohan Chatti, with the hills opening up as you go. Parking is available nearby, so self drive works well here if you would rather have your own vehicle.
