Experience the Retreat

The retreat begins in Vashisht with a short walk to Jogini waterfall and an evening yoga session. Next day a jeep takes you to Kulang village, where you trek up to the Moridugh base camp and settle into your tent with a hot lunch. Evenings at camp bring yoga asana and meditation, and talks on yoga and pranayama help you understand the practice behind the movement.
The main day is the climb to Bhrigu Lake, about eight hours in all, first through dense silver oak forest and then across wide alpine meadows above 10,000 feet. After a quiet meditation at the lake you walk back down to camp. A slower day follows, with morning yoga and a walk to a nearby waterfall, before the final morning of asana and pranayama and the trek back to Vashisht, where you can soak in the hot sulphur baths.

Why This Retreat Stands Out

Few retreats let you practise yoga in a forest camp and then meditate beside a glacial lake at around 4200 metres. Even in April, May and June the meadows near the lake are often covered in snow, so you get a summer snow trek. A trek guide, yoga instructor and cook travel with the group, so you only need to walk, breathe and enjoy the views.
