Experience the Retreat

The retreat is based at a family house in the middle of Vashisht village, offering simple rooms with attached bathrooms and mountain views from every window. The hosts are the original inhabitants of the village, and the sound of the Beas river below is a constant through the stay.
Guests arrive in Manali under their own steam and are met and transferred up to the house in Vashisht. The first afternoon is for settling in and exploring the village before meeting the yoga and meditation teacher, with a freshly made dinner at the family house.
From the second morning the rhythm sets in. Yoga, pranayama and asana practice runs for ninety minutes before breakfast, and the rest of the morning is given to a guided trek to Jogini Falls, a set of waterfalls about an hour along the wall of the valley that drop into the Beas below.
The third day follows the same morning practice and then heads out to the village of Goshal, Old Manali and the Hadimba temple. The temple is very old, set among tall cedar pines on the edge of Dhungri village, and is tied to the legend of Bhima and Hadimba.
Afternoon yoga and meditation run from half past four, followed by a group discussion or reflection and a vegetarian dinner. Guests can take an auto-rickshaw back from Manali in their own time rather than sticking to a group schedule.
The final morning holds a gentle yoga, pranayama and asana session and a late breakfast before checkout. The programme can be extended on request, and the hosts also arrange longer trekking and sightseeing around Manali for guests who want more.
We Offer cooking Classes also if someone interested to learn Indian food cooking

Why This Retreat Stands Out

This is a family homestay rather than a resort, in a village where the hosts are the original inhabitants. Guests eat at the family table, and the simplicity is the point rather than a compromise on the way to something grander.
The retreat pairs practice with real walking. A local guide takes the group to Jogini Falls, through the villages along the Beas and to the Hadimba temple, so the Himalayas are experienced on foot rather than admired from a balcony.
The teaching suits everyone from complete beginners to experienced practitioners, and groups run between two and twelve people. That size means sessions stay personal and the days can flex around what guests actually want.
Dates are flexible rather than fixed. The retreat runs from April to October and guests can choose their own start date, which is unusual and makes it easy to fit around other travel in the region.

The retreat sits in Vashisht, a village three kilometres above Manali town in the Kullu valley of Himachal Pradesh. The Beas river runs constantly below, the mountains fill every window, and the pace is village rather than tourist town. Vashisht is known for its hot sulphur springs and for the temple dedicated to the sage Vashishtha,
who is believed to have meditated here. Two further ancient temples honouring Rama and Shiva.stand nearby, and the springs, temples, shops and rooftop cafes are all a two minute walk from the house. There is plenty within reach for the free afternoons. Jogini Falls is about an hour on foot along the valley wall, the Hadimba temple sits a kilometre from Manali among tall cedar pines, and the villages of Goshal, Burwa and Shanag dot the valley along the river. The wider area supports hiking, camping, cycling, horse riding, rock climbing, fishing and wildlife watching. Rohtang Pass and the Atal Tunnel at Lahaul valley can be visited separately for guests who
add a day.

train

There is no railway line to Manali. The nearest useful railheads are Chandigarh and Ambala, from where the journey continues by road for eight to nine hours.
Guests travelling by rail should plan the final road stretch in advance rather than arranging it on arrival. Overnight road travel from the railhead is common on this route.

Regular buses run from Delhi to Manali, operated by both government and private services, with the overnight journey taking roughly twelve to fourteen hours from Kashmere Gate. Buses also run from Chandigarh, Shimla and Dharamshala.
From the Manali bus stand, Vashisht is three kilometres uphill and reached by taxi or auto-rickshaw in a few minutes. The organizer provides the transfer from Manali to the family house.

taxi

A pre-booked taxi is the simplest option from Bhuntar Airport, a drive of about an hour and a half, or from Chandigarh, which takes eight to nine hours. Booking ahead matters for late arrivals, since the hill roads are slow after dark.
Guests are met in Manali and transferred up to Vashisht by the organizer, so the taxi only needs to reach Manali town. Give the driver the address at Vashisht village, Manali tehsil, Kullu district.

car

From Delhi the drive covers roughly 530 km and takes twelve to fourteen hours via Chandigarh and Mandi. From Chandigarh it is around 310 km and eight to nine hours, and from Bhuntar about 50 km.
