Experience the Retreat

This four-night wellness retreat is built for people who want a short, well organised reset without stepping down in comfort. It runs inside a restored fort palace in the Aravalli hills, roughly 45 minutes from Udaipur, with the village of Delwara spread out below.

The stay opens with a 30 minute wellness consultation on arrival. That conversation shapes what follows, from the therapies you receive to how the kitchen approaches your meals, and a second 30 minute consultation before departure closes the loop with guidance for carrying the work home.

Sunrise yoga runs every morning as a group session, which is the quietest and coolest part of the day up on the ridge. Breath and meditation sessions are scheduled twice during the stay, 30 minutes each, and sound healing twice as well at 45 minutes a session.

Each guest also receives five sixty minute treatments across the four nights. The set covers Flawless Feet Massage, Abhyanga, Shirodhara, Fusion and Ananda Face Therapy, so the programme moves between classical Ayurvedic bodywork and more contemporary spa therapy rather than sticking to one tradition.
Food is part of the experience rather than an afterthought. Daily breakfast comes with either lunch or dinner, drawn from a menu that runs from global favourites to authentic Indian cooking, with a dedicated wellness selection alongside. A cooking class or a high tea is included once during the stay.

It suits couples, solo travellers and anyone with only a few days to spare who wants treatment, rest and a genuine sense of place in the same booking, and it works equally well tacked onto a wider Rajasthan trip.

Why This Retreat Stands Out

Most short wellness breaks ask you to choose between a serious treatment programme and a beautiful place to stay. This one does not. The setting is a hilltop fort palace completed in 1760 and brought back over fifteen years of restoration, with suites, gardens, a pool and views across the valley.

The wellness side is properly structured rather than decorative. Two consultations bracket the stay, five sixty minute therapies are allocated to each guest, and yoga, breathwork, meditation and sound healing run through the four nights on a set rhythm.

The cooking class or high tea adds something to take home, and the kitchen keeps a dedicated wellness menu alongside the regular one.

Program

Day one brings arrival, check in and the 30-minute wellness consultation that sets the shape of the stay. The first treatment or session usually follows once you have settled in.

Across the middle days the rhythm holds steady. Sunrise yoga runs every morning as a group session, the five sixty minute therapies are spread through the four nights, and the two breath and meditation sessions and two sound healing sessions are scheduled around them. The cooking class or high tea falls once during the stay.

On the final morning the 30 minute pre departure consultation reviews how the week went and what to keep doing at home, after which guests check out. Exact session times are confirmed on arrival.

Daily breakfast is included along with either lunch or dinner, taken across several different settings around the palace. The kitchen covers global favourites and authentic Indian cooking, with a dedicated wellness menu running alongside for guests who want to eat in line with the programme.

The wellness kitchen works on dosha based menus, using all six Ayurvedic tastes to keep meals balanced rather than restrictive. Dietary requirements are best raised at booking and again at the arrival consultation so the kitchen can plan properly around them.

The retreat occupies a hilltop fort palace in the Aravalli hills, looking down over the village of Delwara and out across the valley. Udaipur airport is about 45 minutes away by road, so the lakes and palaces of the city stay within reach while the setting itself remains rural and quiet.

Rugged, dramatic landscape, and the light early and late in the day is extraordinary. Village life carries on below the palace much as it always has, and guests can walk down into Delwara on a guided route. The Jain temples there, plus the City Palace and Lake Pichola in Udaipur, Eklingji, Nathdwara and Kumbhalgarh Fort, all sit within reach.

Travel Information

flight

Maharana Pratap Airport at Dabok, Udaipur (UDR) is the nearest airport, with domestic connections to Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Bangalore and other major cities. The drive from the airport to the palace takes around 45 minutes.
International guests generally route through Delhi or Mumbai and take a domestic flight into Udaipur from there. Airport transfers can be arranged by the property in advance, which is worth doing rather than sorting a car out on arrival.

train

Udaipur City Railway Station is the nearest railhead, connected to Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and other cities by regular express services including overnight trains from Delhi.
From the station the palace is roughly an hour by road, heading north out of Udaipur towards Delwara. Taxis are available at the station, though a pre arranged transfer is easier after an overnight journey.

bus

Udaipur is well served by state transport and private operators, with regular services from Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ahmedabad, Delhi and Mumbai arriving at the main bus stand in the city.
From the bus stand a taxi covers the last stretch to Delwara in around an hour. Buses also run on the Udaipur to Nathdwara road that passes near the village, though a direct taxi is far more comfortable with luggage.

taxi

A pre booked taxi is the simplest way to arrive, particularly from the airport where the property can arrange the transfer directly. App based services operate in Udaipur city, though for the run out to Delwara a car booked in advance is more reliable.
From Udaipur airport allow about 45 minutes, and from the city centre or the railway station closer to an hour. Drivers in the area know Delwara and the palace well, so navigation is rarely a problem.

car

The palace is reached on the Udaipur to Nathdwara road, north of the city. Guests driving from Delhi or Jaipur come down NH48, while those from Ahmedabad or Mumbai approach from the south on the same highway network.
From Udaipur the drive is roughly 45 minutes to an hour depending on where you start. Parking is available at the property. Driving also makes it easy to fold in Eklingji, Nathdwara and Kumbhalgarh on the way in or out.

FAQ's

Daily breakfast with lunch or dinner, a 30 minute wellness consultation on arrival and another before departure, sunrise yoga every morning, breath and meditation twice, sound healing twice, a cooking class or high tea once, and five sixty minute treatments per person.

Flawless Feet Massage, Abhyanga, Shirodhara, Fusion and Ananda Face Therapy, each 60 minutes. That is five treatments per person for the stay, so a couple booking together receives ten between them.

No. Sunrise yoga runs as a group session pitched to mixed ability, and the breath and meditation sessions are guided throughout. Beginners are looked after and nobody is expected to keep up with anything.

It is a 30 minute conversation at the start of the stay that shapes your treatments and how the kitchen approaches your meals. The second consultation before departure reviews the stay and sends you home with practical guidance.

It is a reset rather than a course of treatment. Most guests notice better sleep, less physical tension and a clearer head by the last morning, though a longer stay is the answer for anything deeper.

Thirty nine suites across four categories, Garden, Palace and Aravali suites all sleeping two, plus the Devigarh Complex, two connected suites with a private pool that sleeps four with room for two more.

Around 45 minutes by road from Udaipur airport and closer to an hour from the city centre. The palace sits above Delwara village in the Aravalli hills, north of Udaipur.

Delwara village itself on a guided walk, the Jain temples there, Eklingji temple, the Shrinathji shrine at Nathdwara, and Udaipur with the City Palace and Lake Pichola. Kumbhalgarh Fort is a longer day trip.

A swimming pool, a hot tub, gardens, a fitness centre and the spa, alongside the dining spaces. Suites come with Wi-Fi, a minibar, tea and coffee facilities and room service.

Yes. The hotel runs personalised Ayurvedic retreats under a doctor, with programmes built around relaxation, detox, de-stress, weight loss and yoga, so a longer or more focused stay can be arranged.

Further Details About the Retreat

This is a luxury heritage hotel first and a wellness centre second, which is exactly the point for guests who want treatment without the austerity that often comes with it. The suites, the food and the setting are all of a standard you would expect from a restored fort palace.

Worth knowing on meals. The rate covers daily breakfast plus one main meal, either lunch or dinner, so the third meal of the day is charged separately. The treatment allocation is five per person for the stay, not five per day.

Hotel sits on a hilltop above the village, so there are steps and level changes through the property, which guests with limited mobility should raise at the time of booking. Access by car runs right up to the palace.
The wellness team also builds personalised Ayurvedic retreats under a resident doctor, covering relaxation, detox, de-stress, weight loss and yoga, so anyone wanting more than four nights has a clear path to it.
