Experience the Retreat
This is a working week in the best sense of the phrase, rather than a retreat of long lectures. Guests varrive tired and scattered from work, travel or too much screen time, and the week is built to send them home with a steadier breath and a clearer head.
Mornings begin early while the beach is still empty. A guided Hatha or Vinyasa session sets the tone, working on breath, alignment and steady movement rather than performance, followed by awholesome breakfast. The hours after breakfast are deliberately unstructured. Most guests read, walk the shore, journal or -1sit with a coffee and do nothing at all, and that kind of rest turns out to be rarer and more valuable
than people expect. The afternoon session changes in tone. Depending on the day it may be a Yin class, a breathwork session or guided meditation, all built to slow the nervous system rather than push the body further.Evenings close with a shared meal among guests, which is often the social high point of the day. On select nights a sound bath meditation runs under open sky as the tide comes in.
Nothing is rushed anywhere in the schedule. There are no back to back activities competing for attention and no pressure to fill every hour, only enough structure to keep the practice consistent and enough open time to let it settle.

Why This Retreat Stands Out
Seven days is chosen deliberately rather than sold as a round number. The first two days ease the
body into a new rhythm, most guests report better sleep by day four, and by day six breathing patterns shift on their own without conscious effort.
The week is intentionally paced rather than packed. Two strong sessions a day with real recovery “ between them does more than five hours of back to back yoga that leaves people exhausted by day three, and the open hours are treated as part of the method. Groups are kept small by design. This is not a hall of forty mats where instructions barely reach the back, and teachers learn your name by day two, which is what makes individual correction possible. Complete beginners and long-term practitioners sit on neighbouring mats here. Every session is
taught with modifications throughout, so both leave challenged at the right level for their own body rather than one of them being carried by the other.

INDIA

The shala sits on the north side of Palolem Beach in Canacona, South Goa, about a minute on foot from the sand. It is set in greenery rather than on a busy strip, so the waves, sea breeze and birdsong carry into the practice space.
Palolem lies on the quieter southern stretch of the Goa coastline, well away from the commercial beaches up north. That distance matters more than it sounds, since a retreat works best when the place around it supports stillness rather than competes with it.The beach is the main draw, and it is close enough for sunrise and sunset walks between sessions.
Morning practice happens while the sand is still empty and the light is soft.
There is a wider Goa to explore for anyone staying on. Traditional Goan cooking classes with local cooks run at the shala, and the markets and food of Palolem are part of what guests take away from the week.

Travel Information

flight

Dabolim Airport is roughly 70 km north, a drive of around two hours, and Manohar International
Airport at Mopa is further north at around 140 km. Dabolim is the easier arrival for Palolem.
International travellers usually connect through Mumbai, Delhi or Bengaluru, though Goa also carries
some direct international services in season. A pre-booked taxi is the simplest way to cover the last stretch.

train

Canacona station is the nearest at around 3 km from Palolem Beach, on the Konkan Railway route.
Margao is the larger railhead at around 40 km, with services from Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi and
across India.
From Canacona a local taxi or auto reaches the beach in a few minutes. Booking Konkan Railway
tickets ahead matters in the peak season, since the coastal route fills quickly.

bus

State and private buses run to Canacona and Palolem from Margao, Panaji and across Goa, along
with long-distance services from Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru. The route down the coast is
straightforward.
From the Canacona bus stand, a local taxi or auto covers the last few kilometres to the beach. It is the
most economical way to arrive from elsewhere in Goa.

taxi

A pre-booked taxi from Dabolim Airport takes around two hours and is the simplest option for guests
arriving with luggage. App based cabs operate in Goa but thin out in the far south, so a local operator
is more reliable.
Give the driver the address on the north side of Palolem Beach, behind Fernandes Restaurant,
Palolem, Canacona. The shala is a minute from the sand and easy to find once you are on the beach road.

car

Palolem is around 70 km south of Dabolim and 40 km south of Margao on good coastal roads, with
the drive from the airport taking about two hours. Self-driving or a hired car works well for anyone
exploring Goa either side of the retreat.
The final approach is on narrow village roads near the beach. Parking should be confirmed with the
shala when booking, since space close to the sand is limited.

FAQ'S

No. The retreat is designed for all levels including complete beginners, and sessions are taught with
modifications so every guest practises at a pace that suits their own body and experience.

Almost certainly not. Most batches carry a genuine mix of complete beginners and experienced
practitioners, and the teaching style is built to support both in the same room without either feeling out of place

The 5 day is a shorter focused reset for guests with limited time. The 7 day allows a deeper rhythm to
set in, with enough time for changes in sleep and energy to actually take hold rather than fade on the Journey back home.

Twice daily guided yoga sessions across a range of styles, one dedicated sound bath meditation
evening, simple nourishing meals built around a yogic diet, and full access to the practice space with
mats and props provided.

Yes. Many guests join solo, and the setting is built to be welcoming for solo travellers who want to
connect with a small group without any pressure to be social if they would rather keep to themselves.

Small by design. Group sizes are kept deliberately low for every batch so instructors can give
individual correction and learn each guest by the second day.

Further Details About the Retreat

Retreats run on fixed weekly start dates through the year, with batches limited by design and the
October to March season filling fastest. Booking well ahead is worth doing for peak season dates.
The published rate is per person for a private beach hut. Accommodation in other hut categories is
arranged on request according to availability in Palolem, so confirm your room type and its rate with Centre at the time of Boarding.
