Experience the Retreat
The retreat is built as a gradual arc rather than a fixed daily routine. The first day is arrival and grounding, the middle days work through breath, sound and movement, and the closing day turns inward with mantra practice before departure.

Guests check in at noon, take orientation, eat a vegetarian lunch and settle before a gentle stretch and relaxation session in the late afternoon. The evening brings the Ganga riverside Aarti, which is the traditional way to arrive in Rishikesh rather than a performance laid on for visitors.

The second day opens with the waking bell at 7:30 AM, then breathwork and meditation before breakfast. A wellness and meditation workshop runs late morning, and the afternoon leaves real leisure time before the guided walk to the waterfall.

The waterfall excursion closes with a guided nature meditation in the forest, which is where much of the retreat actually lands for people. The following days bring a pranayama and meditation workshop, Nada yoga and sound healing, and Hatha and Ashtanga yoga workshops in the late morning.

Sunrise yoga on Ganga beach, gratitude meditation, chanting and meditative walks to Neem beach fill out the later days. Deep relaxation yoga nidra, group wellness discussions and an evening of bonfire and mindful music sit alongside the seated practice.

The final morning is mantra meditation and breakfast before checkout at 11:00 AM. Practices are supportive for beginners and still meaningful for guests who already practise, taught by senior Indian teachers trained in the Sivananda and Hatha lineages, with sattvic meals cooked in house from organic Himalayan produce throughout.

Why This Retreat Stands Out
Six days is long enough for the practice to settle rather than simply be sampled. Each day carries a different emphasis, from grounding and rejuvenation through sound and Ayurvedic living to the quieter mantra work at the end, so the week builds instead of repeating itself.

The practice stays accessible without being thin. Sessions support complete beginners while remaining meaningful for people who already practise, and the group is small enough for the teaching to reach everyone in the room.

Nada yoga and sound healing, chanting and emotional healing meditation give this retreat a wider range than a purely physical yoga week. The Tapovan setting above the Ganges means the surroundings do as much work as the schedule, and the waterfall walk, the beach walks and the evening aarti are part of the programme rather than optional extras.

A boutique retreat on the banks of the Ganga at Tapovan, run as small cohorts rather than as a hotel. Rooms carry king beds, en-suite bathrooms, Wi-Fi and a tea bar, finished in warm wood, soft linen and natural stone rather than standard hotel fittings.

What Siddharya Wellness does differently is the scale and the kitchen. An in-house chef cooks three sattvic meals a day from organic Himalayan produce, with herbal infusions and Himalayan honey, and the property runs on filtered water and reusable materials with no single use plastic.

Travel Information

flight

Jolly Grant Airport at Dehradun is the nearest, roughly an hour away by road, with regular domestic flights from Delhi and several other Indian cities. It is the simplest way in for anyone travelling from within India.
International travellers usually fly into Delhi and continue either by a short domestic flight to Dehradun or by road, which takes around six hours. The centre can arrange transport, so share arrival details when booking.

train

Haridwar Junction is the main railhead, about an hour away and well connected with Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and the rest of northern India. Rishikesh has its own smaller station with more limited services, mainly from Delhi.
From Haridwar a taxi or auto covers the last stretch to Tapovan in around forty five minutes on a straightforward road. Booking train tickets ahead matters in the peak season, since the popular routes fill quickly.

bus

Regular buses run from Delhi to Rishikesh, operated by both government and private services, with the journey taking six to seven hours from Kashmere Gate. Overnight coaches suit anyone who would rather arrive in the morning.
From the Rishikesh bus stand, a local taxi or auto reaches Tapovan in a few minutes. It is the most economical way to arrive from Delhi or from elsewhere in Uttarakhand.

taxi

A pre-booked taxi is the simplest option and the only sensible one late at night. From Jolly Grant Airport the drive takes about an hour, from Haridwar around forty five minutes, and from Delhi six to seven hours.
App based cabs work within Dehradun and Haridwar but thin out towards Tapovan, so book through a local operator or ask the centre to arrange it. Give the driver the address at Tapovan, Rishikesh, near Lakshman Jhula.

car

From Delhi the drive covers roughly 240 km and takes five to six hours along NH334, passing through Haridwar before Rishikesh. The road is in good condition and well signposted throughout.
Tapovan sits across the river from the main town, with the final approach on narrower lanes near Lakshman Jhula. Parking should be confirmed with the centre when booking, since space on that side of the river is limited.

FAQ'S

Yes. The practices are built to support beginners while staying meaningful for guests who already practise yoga or meditation, so mixed levels work comfortably in the same session.

Hatha and Ashtanga yoga, breathwork and pranayama, meditation, chanting, Nada yoga and sound healing, deep relaxation yoga nidra, emotional healing meditation, group wellness discussions, a bonfire and mindful music evening, the Ganga riverside Aarti, a waterfall walk with guided nature meditation and meditative walks to Neem beach.

Six days and five nights. Check-in is at 12:00 PM on day one with orientation at 1:00 PM, and checkout is at 11:00 AM on day six.

The waterfall excursion is a guided forest walk closing with a nature meditation, and the Neem beach walks are gentle riverside walking rather than treks. Sturdy shoes are worth packing, and trails can be slippery during and after the monsoon.

Single occupancy for a room of your own, double occupancy for two people travelling together, and shared occupancy where the centre pairs solo travellers. All three are boutique rooms with king beds, en-suite bathrooms, Wi-Fi and a tea bar.

Three sattvic vegetarian meals a day, cooked in house from organic Himalayan produce, along with herbal infusions and Himalayan honey. Dietary needs should be raised at the time of booking.

Yes. Every full day keeps the afternoon from around 3:00 PM open before the evening session, which leaves room to rest, read or explore Tapovan on foot.

The Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat, the Ram Jhula and Lakshman Jhula bridges, Patho Sunset Point for wide valley views, the Kunjapuri sunrise trek to a hilltop temple, and the Bhootnath Shiva shrine. The centre arranges transport and guides.

Yes. Programmes run at three, four, five, six, seven and ten days, so the same setting can be taken at different lengths. Corporate retreats and leadership offsites are arranged separately.

No. The focus is on personal practice and renewal rather than professional certification, so no teacher training courses are offered.
