Experience the Retreat
Mauna is the practice of silence, and this programme uses it to reduce conversation, phone use and everyday sensory input for a set number of days. Orientation covers the idea behind Mauna and the practical guidelines for the stay. Guests then step into quiet with the support of guided meditation, breathwork, gentle yoga and mindful movement.

Silent walks and silent meals draw attention to sounds, taste, texture and surroundings that regular routines often skip over. Journaling and reflective work give guests another way to observe recurring thoughts and reactions. The final stage brings back speech and communication in a measured way, so guests can carry a slower rhythm out of the retreat setting.

Why This Retreat Stands Out
The retreat is built around silence rather than a packed activity schedule. Silent meals, walks and sitting meditation give guests room to notice thoughts, emotions and habits with clearer attention.

Silence is entered and exited gradually, which makes the format workable for first time guests who have never sat in quiet for this long.

Food Details
Meals are sattvic and vegetarian, cooked simply and served at set times through the day. Mindful eating is treated as part of the wellness practice here rather than an afterthought, so meals are unhurried and the food is kept light enough to sit comfortably alongside the sound sessions.

Produce is local and seasonal, with the farm stay setting feeding into what reaches the kitchen. Guests with dietary requirements should raise them at the time of booking so the kitchen can plan around them.

Set amid lush greenery overlooking the still water of Vaitarna Lake near Nashik, this is a farm stay and wellness retreat rather than a resort, and it is built for people who want a genuine break from city noise. Programmes cover yoga, meditation, energy healing, Ayurveda, sound healing, detox therapies, sattvic living and time spent outdoors.

The work at SiddhaDham is aimed at physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing together rather than one at a time. Panoramic views over the lake and hills, fresh air and long quiet stretches carry a good part of the healing on their own, which is exactly what the founders intended.

The retreat sits amid open green country near Igatpuri, overlooking the calm water of Vaitarna Lake and within easy reach of Nashik. This stretch of the Western Ghats is known for its hills, forest and the quiet that comes with being well outside a city.

The setting does a lot of the work here. Panoramic views over the lake and the surrounding hills, clean air and long stretches of silence make the place feel a long way from urban routine, even though the drive from Mumbai or Nashik is short. Car access runs right up to the property.

Nashik itself carries a strong spiritual heritage and is worth a day of your time. Trimbakeshwar Temple, the ghats at Panchavati, the vineyards on the city outskirts and the waterfalls and trekking trails around Igatpuri and Bhandardara are all within reach for guests who want to see the region.

Travel Information

flight

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai (BOM) is the main gateway for international guests, roughly 120 to 140 km away by road with a drive of about three to four hours depending on traffic out of the city.
Nashik Airport at Ozar (ISK) is the closer option for domestic travellers, around 70 to 80 km away, though it handles far fewer flights. A pre booked taxi from either airport is the simplest way to arrive, and the drive itself runs through good hill country.

train

Igatpuri Railway Station is the nearest railhead and sits on the Central Railway line between Mumbai and Nashik, with regular express and passenger services stopping there.
Nashik Road Railway Station is the larger station, better connected to Delhi, Pune, Bangalore and beyond. From either station a taxi or auto rickshaw covers the last stretch to the retreat. Guests should confirm the transfer in advance, since local transport thins out late in the evening.

bus

State transport and private buses run frequently between Mumbai, Pune, Nashik and Igatpuri along the Mumbai Agra highway, which makes road travel both cheap and easy to arrange at short notice.
From the bus stop at Igatpuri or Nashik, a taxi or auto rickshaw finishes the journey to the property. Guests carrying luggage will find a pre booked car considerably more comfortable than local transport for that final leg.

taxi

A pre booked taxi is the easiest way to arrive, particularly for international guests landing in Mumbai. App based services operate in Mumbai, Pune and Nashik, though for the hill stretch a car booked in advance for the full journey works better than trying to arrange one on arrival.
From Mumbai airport allow three to four hours, from Nashik around one and a half to two, and from Igatpuri station well under an hour. Ask the retreat to arrange the transfer if you would rather not organise it yourself.

car

The retreat is reached on the Mumbai Agra highway, which connects Mumbai, Nashik and Igatpuri and stays in good condition through the year. From Mumbai the drive takes roughly three hours, from Pune about four and a half, and from Nashik under two.
Vehicles come all the way to the property, so there is no walk in at the end and no need to pack light on that account. Parking is available on site. Driving also gives you the freedom to take in Bhandardara, Trimbakeshwar and the waterfalls around Igatpuri on the way in or out.

FAQ'S

The retreat encourages participants to minimise unnecessary conversation. Silence is introduced gradually, and essential communication remains possible when required.

Participants are generally encouraged to minimise or refrain from mobile phone use, social media and other digital distractions to support the practice of silence.

Yes. No previous experience with silent retreats or meditation is necessarily required. The programme introduces Mauna gradually and provides guided practices throughout.

Activities may include meditation, breathwork, gentle yoga, silent meals, nature walks, journaling, reflective exercises, sound based sessions and periods of personal time.

Yes. Mauna is intended as a supportive practice rather than a rigid prohibition on communication. Essential or urgent communication can take priority when necessary.

Yes. Vehicles come right up to the property and parking is available on site, so there is no walking stretch at the end of the journey and no restriction on how much luggage you bring.

Sattvic vegetarian meals cooked simply and served at set times, using local and seasonal produce. Mindful eating is part of the programme, so meals are unhurried. Flag any dietary requirement when you book.

The lake, the surrounding greenery and the walking paths take up most of it. Further afield there are the waterfalls and trails around Igatpuri and Bhandardara, Trimbakeshwar Temple and the vineyards outside Nashik.

October to February is the most comfortable, with mild days and clear views. The monsoon between June and September brings heavy rain but turns the whole area green, and many guests prefer it for exactly that reason.

Yes. The centre also runs yoga, meditation, energy healing, Ayurvedic cooking, sattvic lifestyle, detox, de-stress and silence retreats across a range of durations, so a longer or different stay can be arranged.

Further Details About the Retreat

The setting is a large part of what you are booking. The property sits right on the bank of the Vaitarna with water and hills in view from most of the grounds, and it is genuinely scenic in a way photographs undersell, particularly early in the morning and through the monsoon months.
Access is easy. Cars come all the way to Center, so there is no trek in at the end of the drive and no limit on luggage. Parking sits on site, and the comfort standard through the property is good at its best, so the rural setting does not come at the cost of a proper bed and a hot shower.

This is a wellness retreat rather than a clinical programme. Sound healing and aura cleansing are offered as wellness practice, not as medical treatment, and anyone managing a health condition should keep their own doctor in the loop. Guests on regular medication should carry enough for the full stay.
