Summary
Fourteen days of doctor-led support for steadier blood sugar and better metabolic health. The programme is built around naturopathy, nutrition, Ayurveda, yoga, meditation and guided physical activity each day.

Your plan starts with a health assessment covering diet, activity, rest and the treatment you are already on. It stays focused on the habits you can keep up at home, and it is designed to work alongside your existing diabetes care rather than replacing it.

Experience the Retreat
Type 2 diabetes rarely has one cause. Insulin resistance, daily routine, food and activity levels all play a part, along with factors that differ from person to person, and no two people arrive with quite the same picture.

A fortnight away from your usual rhythm gives you the time to work through those habits properly and to build a routine that holds together. Fourteen days is the minimum recommended for this approach.

You start with a full health check and a planning session with the doctor, who looks at your reports, your medication and your daily routine first. After that the days settle into a pattern of treatment, set meals, yoga, meditation, activity and rest.

The wider programme draws on hydrotherapy, mud therapy, diet therapy, yoga and guided movement. Supervised fasting or cleansing practices are used only where the doctor judges them right for you, and every therapy is chosen for a reason rather than to fill the day.

Ayurvedic and naturopathic treatments are added according to what you need, so the mix changes from one guest to the next. Acupuncture and physiotherapy can also be brought in when they are recommended after a consultation.

Between sessions there is time to rest, walk in the grounds and let the day settle at its own pace, which is part of the treatment rather than a gap in it.

Food does a great deal of the work here. Diet and lifestyle changes sit at the centre of the diabetes package, and the aim is that you leave knowing how eating, movement, sleep and stress shape your metabolic health, with practical guidance you can use in your own kitchen.

This is a treatment led wellness programme, not a substitute for diabetes medicine or specialist care. Treatment, diet changes, fasting and activity are all set against your blood glucose levels, medication, insulin use and medical history.

Keep taking your prescribed medication unless your treating doctor advises otherwise. Bring your current prescriptions, recent reports and details of everything you take. Blood glucose management stays a medical responsibility.

Why This Retreat Stands Out
No single therapy carries this programme. Nutrition and lifestyle changes do much of the work, helped along by natural therapies such as hydrotherapy and mud therapy, with yoga and physical activity every day.

Your plan is adjusted to your health and to what the doctor finds at the first assessment. This matters most if you take glucose lowering medicines or insulin, because any change to food, fasting or activity levels needs closer monitoring.

Two weeks is long enough for new habits to take hold, so the focus stays on what you can keep doing once you are home. The plan looks at food, movement, sleep and stress together, rather than treating any one of them on its own.

GIR SOMNATH

GUJARAT

INDIA

Vansoj is a village in Taluka: Una, in the Gir Somnath district of Gujarat, and the retreat sits right in the middle of it. There is countryside on every side, and the Arabian Sea is a short drive away. Open green fields, farmland and the slow pace of village life set the tone. The coast nearby adds beaches, sea air and easy half day outings.

The property stands close to the Diu-Ghoghla Check Post, with roads running out to Una, Diu, Somnath and the wider Gir region. Everything you need sits on one campus. There are rooms, naturopathy and therapy spaces, yoga and activity areas, dining facilities and quiet corners to sit in between sessions.

Wi-Fi, air conditioning, daily housekeeping and restaurant service are all part of the stay. The team can arrange airport, railway or bus transfers once you share your travel plans in advance. What makes this corner of Gujarat unusual is how much sits within reach of a treatment schedule. Ghoghla Beach is around 2.4 km away, close enough for an early morning walk.

Diu Fort looks out over the Arabian Sea and carries the Portuguese history of the region in its walls. Somnath Temple, one of the great coastal pilgrimage sites in India, lies near Veraval. Gir National Park, the last home of the Asiatic lion, is generally open from 16 October to 15 June. The beaches, old streets, churches and markets of Diu round out the options.

Travel Information

flight

Diu Airport (DIU) is the closest airport, roughly 9 km from the property, which makes flying the simplest way in for most guests.

Scheduled connections are available from cities including Mumbai, Surat, Ahmedabad and Goa, though schedules change, so it is worth checking what is operating around your dates.

From the airport, a pre arranged transfer or taxi is easiest. The drive runs towards Ghoghla and then on through local roads to Vansoj Olvan Road.

Airport pick up can be booked in advance for an extra charge. Send your arrival details across before you travel so the transfer can be arranged and someone is there waiting for you when you land.

train

Veraval Junction is the nearest major railway station, around 90 km away, with rail connections to major cities in Gujarat and to other parts of India.

For guests travelling within the country, the train is often the most practical way in, particularly on the longer routes across India.

From Veraval, continue by private taxi or by bus towards Una and Diu, following the road through the Gir Somnath region and on to the Vansoj-Olvan Road area.

Booking a taxi ahead is wise, especially if you are arriving from overseas or travelling with heavy luggage. Railway transfer help may also be available from the centre itself if you arrange it in advance.

bus

Diu Bus Station is the closest practical arrival point by bus, and Diu itself is well connected by road with destinations right across Gujarat.

It is a workable option if you are coming in from one of the nearby cities, and services run through the day.

From the bus station, continue by taxi or by a pre arranged pick up towards Ghoghla and on to the Vansoj-Olvan Road area.

The property sits close to the Diu side of the Gujarat border, roughly 2.3 km from the Diu Entry Check Point, so the last leg of the journey is a short one.

taxi

A private taxi is the simplest way in, whether you are arriving at Diu Airport, Diu Bus Station or the railway station at Veraval.

From Diu Airport the run is a short one, with the airport around 9 km from the property, which makes for an easy transfer at the end of a long journey.

Arriving by train, arrange a taxi at Veraval, roughly 90 km out. Transfers can also be booked from nearby towns such as Una, Diu and Somnath, subject to prior confirmation.

Airport and bus stop pick up and drop off services are available at an extra charge when you book them in advance with the centre.

car

The property sits on Vansoj Olvan Road in Vansoj village, in the Gir Somnath district of Gujarat, outside the main town.

Coming from Diu, head for the Ghoghla Check Post and carry on towards Vansoj Olvan Road. The Diu Kesariya Road and Diu Una Road connections also lead here.

From Una, follow the road towards the Diu and Vansoj side of the region. From Somnath or Veraval, drive to Una first and then pick up the local roads towards Vansoj.

Use GPS for the final stretch, as the property lies outside the main town, and allow a little extra time for the last few kilometres.

No. Keep taking what you have been prescribed unless a qualified medical professional specifically recommends a change. Medication or insulin should never be stopped or reduced on your own during the stay.

Only where it is right for you, and always under professional supervision. Fasting and cleansing practices do not suit everyone with diabetes, and particularly not those who are using insulin or glucose lowering medication.

The Indian Rupee (INR). ATMs and banks are far easier to find in nearby towns such as Diu and Una than in the village itself, so it is worth carrying some cash for small purchases and for local transport.
