Thirteen rooms on the bank of the Kuttampuzha River, each named after a Kerala flower, built from red stone from Kannur, palmwood from Palakkad and mud dug from the same land. A yogashala, an Ayurveda treatment room, a Zen garden with a ten foot Buddha and a swimming pool make up the rest. What sets Munkudil apart is that the building and the programme come from the same thinking. Sattvic food is cooked from local produce, Ayurvedic doctors set each plan personally, and the forest and river are part of the day rather than the view.
